So here’s more food porn because I don’t have any photos from the studio today.

It was supposed to be our last day of recording but since I didn’t warm up before the session, I didn’t finish vocal tracking. Stupid, I know. I hate myself. Hahaha.

We had dinner after the session then headed to Bar Dolci for dessert.

Bar Dolci offers a pretty wide variety of gelato. The smallest cup costs ₱120.

They also serve savory snacks like Salami Bruschetta and Gruyère Cheese Poufs.

Aside from their interesting selection of gelato, they also have French macarons which are ₱50 per piece.

I ended up buying half a dozen of their French macarons and Paco tried the ‘Gelato Burger’ (which the owner suggested). Pat, Cash and Steph got some gelato for themselves but I forgot what flavours.

Watch out for our review of Bar Dolci on Masticate Manila!

Back in the Studio!

After over half a year, we’re back at Love One Another Studio to FINALLY finish our EP! We’re working on the last two songs this week and planning to launch next month. It took us that long to go back and finish recording because we were either busy or lazy during our free time. Haha.

This is Pancho. He’s our sound engineer for this session. Fun fact: this guy is a Shakey’s Pizza expert. Hahaha.

This is our drummer Cash and his girlfriend Steph enjoying what’s left of the pizza and beer we had for dinner.

It feels amazing to be back in the studio after so long! We absolutely love LOA. There’s nothing like working with a talented team that makes every recording session hilariously entertaining but still keeping it a great learning experience.

In between work and band stuff, Summer 2012 has been nothing but a series of food dates — hence the constant food porn on my Tumblr. And here I am, sleepless but wide awake at 05:21 AM, posting more photos of food yet again.

A few days ago, we decided to have dinner at Chelsea after being let down by La Cuisine Française for the second time (it was closed AGAIN when we went there).

As usual, Paco had some French Onion Soup and we ordered those Molten Cheese Risotto Balls.

It was already way past dinner time when we got to Chelsea and I was starving so I ordered this Herbed Norwegian Salmon.

We got one slice each of the Cookie Dough Cheesecake and the Big Nutella Dome Cake. That Nutella dome cake is big, alright. A slice is taller than a dinner fork. I love these desserts, but I still think they’re ridiculously overpriced (₱300+ per slice).

By the way, this is Paco a.k.a. my partner-in-crime-slash-food-adventure-buddy. He’s my bandmate, too. Note that every time I use the pronoun ‘we’, I’m most likely referring to myself with this dude. Haha.

Last Saturday, we had Japanese for dinner before going to Mercato Centrale for some ice cream. We headed to Little Tokyo and had dinner at Seryna.

(Those shavings on top of the Agedashi Tofu looked like they were slowly wriggling. CREEPY.)

If you say you love Japanese food but have never been to Little Tokyo… FOR SHAME!!! No valid excuse if you live in Manila!

Anyway, we’ll be posting the reviews of these two restaurants on our food blog. Check it out if you haven’t!

We drove around Salcedo Village looking for the restaurant we’ve been wanting to try, only to find out that it was closed for inventory that night. So we headed to Greenbelt 5 instead and as usual, we were overwhelmed by the huge array of restaurants around the area. After about half an hour, we ended up having a pretty late dinner at Myron’s Place.

We had the Oysters Rockefeller for starters. This was really good!

I had the Linguini with Shrimp and Bleu Cheese which was pretty bland (or maybe I just didn’t appreciate it ‘cause I already had shrimps for lunch that day) and Paco had the Steak Dianne. Pricey dishes but quite disappointing, to be honest.

And look who we bumped into! Jason and Tam! These two celebrated their first anniversary yesterday.

Okay, so we didn’t actually bump into them. Haha. We knew they were also in Greenbelt and they met up with us after their anniversary dinner.

The highlight of our dinner at Geisha was the Geisha Carpaccio (although I liked the Butter Wasabi Oysters, too). Their Skewered Pork is also a must-try.

We’ll post the review here soon.
